Trump claims US strikes on Iran a global “service”

Published on: March 7, 2026 9:30 PM

US President Donald Trump said recent attacks on Iran achieved major success, targeting its military, navy, air force, and communications systems. Speaking to Latin American leaders in Florida, Trump called the operations a “service” provided not only to the Middle East but to the world, claiming the strikes aimed to minimize casualties while delivering decisive impact.

Trump said US forces destroyed 42 Iranian naval vessels and disabled a large portion of the country’s air and telecommunications networks. He also claimed prior attacks targeted Iran’s nuclear-related facilities, asserting Iran had been close to obtaining nuclear weapons before the strikes.

Describing the operations as a major success, Trump emphasized that Iran’s military capability received a decisive blow. “Wars involve casualties, but we aim to keep them minimal,” he said, stressing that the campaign was carefully executed.

He further stated that US actions forced Iran to apologize to neighboring countries and pledge no further attacks, a concession he attributed to sustained American and Israeli military pressure. Trump claimed Iran had ambitions to dominate the Middle East but was effectively restrained.

Trump also said the US is forming a new military alliance to counter drug trafficking groups while maintaining pressure on Iran. He framed the campaign as a global strategic service demonstrating US power, influence, and defensive reach beyond the region.
