Pakistan reaffirms strong ties with Turkiye, Gulf Nations amid tensions

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Turkiye and other Gulf countries, expressing readiness to support efforts aimed at de-escalation and peaceful dialogue in the region.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister conveyed warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his family, and the people of Turkiye, highlighting the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries.

During their cordial exchange, both leaders discussed the evolving Middle East situation, with Sharif strongly condemning attacks on Turkiye and other Gulf nations, urging restraint and emphasizing resolving differences through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister also noted discussions on Afghanistan, acknowledging Turkiye’s constructive role in facilitating peace efforts, particularly its contribution toward the recent temporary ceasefire during the Eid holidays, enhancing regional stability and cooperation.

Sharif highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral relations, expressing satisfaction over cooperation across trade, infrastructure, and political spheres, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to sustaining strong ties with Turkiye and allied Gulf countries.

He concluded by emphasizing Pakistan’s continued support for regional peace initiatives, calling for mutual efforts to address challenges through diplomacy, while reiterating the importance of dialogue, restraint, and collaboration among brotherly nations.
