Iranian embassies troll Trump’s threats with viral posts

Published on: April 7, 2026 12:10 PM

دنیا بھر میں ایرانی سفارتخانوں نے ٹرمپ کی دھمکیوں کو مذاق میں اُڑا دیا، ٹوئٹس وائرل

Iranian embassies around the world have taken a lighthearted and satirical approach to US President Donald Trump’s recent threats against Iran, turning social media posts into viral moments.

Instead of reacting seriously to Trump’s warnings about strikes on infrastructure and deadlines for a deal, Iranian diplomatic missions engaged in creative trolling. In Zimbabwe, the embassy humorously claimed that the “key to the Strait of Hormuz is lost” while mocking the deadline threat by asking Trump to reschedule the timing.

In Bulgaria, a cartoon circulated showing Trump trapped in the narrow waters of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the perceived futility of his threats. Meanwhile, the embassy in Tajikistan depicted Trump caught in a comical scenario with Iran, blaming him for his own “misbehavior.”

The Iranian mission in Indonesia shared videos of US aircraft arriving over Iran and then being destroyed, using humor to undermine the gravity of Trump’s warnings. Similarly, in Armenia, a video linked Trump’s aggressive policies to the global energy crisis, satirizing his military posturing.

These posts have gone viral, drawing attention to the Iranian diplomatic strategy of using satire and social media engagement to respond to international threats. Analysts suggest that such creative responses aim to diminish the psychological impact of Trump’s warnings while rallying domestic and international audiences through humor.

The viral reactions illustrate a shift in diplomatic communication, where embassies leverage social media as a tool for public messaging, satire, and narrative control in high-stakes geopolitical disputes.
