Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has removed restrictions on wheat sales, allowing small farmers to sell their produce without limits. The decision aims to ease pressure on growers and improve wheat procurement across the province.
The chief minister ordered an accelerated wheat procurement campaign and directed authorities to ensure timely payments to farmers. Officials said the move is intended to strengthen farmer confidence and improve participation in government procurement centres.

Under the revised policy, the earlier per-acre wheat selling limit has been abolished. Farmers can now sell wheat freely at designated procurement centres. The government said this change will provide significant relief to small-scale growers.
Officials briefed the chief minister that the wheat procurement drive began on April 1. The provincial target is to purchase 1 million metric tons of wheat this season. Wheat has been cultivated on nearly 1.94 million acres across Sindh.
