According to an official notification, the suspended officials include a deputy controller, an assistant controller, and a data entry operator. The action was taken after concerns were raised by the provincial Ministry of Universities and Boards regarding possible mismanagement in examination procedures.
Authorities said the officials were responsible for key administrative tasks, including the transfer of examination centres and the posting of staff at schools. These functions are now under scrutiny as investigators examine alleged lapses that may have enabled cheating during matriculation exams.
The move comes amid a wider crackdown on examination malpractice in Karachi, where law enforcement agencies have recently uncovered organized cheating networks. In a separate operation, the Crime Investigation Agency of Karachi Police arrested four individuals allegedly involved in providing leaked exam papers to students.
Police officials stated that the suspects were part of an organized group that facilitated cheating during board examinations by supplying question papers in advance in exchange for large sums of money. Raids were conducted in multiple areas of the city, leading to the arrests.
The crackdown has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the examination system and the role of insiders in enabling malpractice. Authorities believe that coordination between external gangs and internal staff may have contributed to the leakage of examination material.
The Sindh government has vowed strict action against all individuals involved, both within and outside the education system. Officials say further investigations are underway to identify additional suspects and determine the full extent of the network.
