Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again praised Pakistan’s political and military leadership, calling both the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Field Marshal Asim Munir “great personalities.” He stated that Pakistan played an important role in facilitating efforts related to the Iran Deal.

In an interview with a US-based media outlet, President Trump said Field Marshal Asim Munir is a “great man,” while also describing Pakistan’s Prime Minister as a “great leader.” He added that there is a strong sense of mutual respect between Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, which he described as a positive sign of coordination.

Trump said Pakistani leaders contributed significantly to discussions and diplomatic efforts regarding Iran, as they are well aware of the Iranian leadership and regional dynamics. According to him, this understanding helped advance dialogue and improve communication between the involved parties.

Speaking later at a public event, the US president also announced that China’s President is expected to visit the United States in September. He added that China has also played an important role in the Iran-related discussions, noting that China imports around 50% of its oil requirements from Iran.

Trump further stated that the United States maintains strong relations with Israel and confirmed that he plans to visit China again later this year. He suggested that ongoing global diplomatic engagements are reshaping regional and international alignments connected to the Iran Deal.
