Geo-tagging of 838,555 manholes has been completed across the province, while net meshes have been installed in more than 3,000 manholes in different cities, according to a spokesperson for the Punjab government. He said that on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, net meshes are being installed in all manholes round the clock in which the business community and civil society are also involved in this process. It was further informed that for the first time in 41 cities of Punjab, the process of de-silting of drains and sewer lines has been completed ahead of Monsoon. The spokesperson said that during this process, around 550 tons of silt and slurry have been removed. He said that new durable covers have been installed on 200,000 manholes, while 91 jetting and suction machines, 77 desilting machines and 100 de-watering sets are being provided in different cities, before Monsoon.
