PM congratulates newly elected GB chief minister, others

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday extended his heartiest congratulations to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Amjad Hussain on his election as the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The prime minister, in a statement, also felicitated Imran Nadeem Shigri on his election as speaker and Malik Kifayat ur Rehman as deputy speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.

Paying tribute to the entire political leadership, he commended them for ensuring that the Gilgit-Baltistan elections were held in a positive political environment.

He said that the peaceful conduct of the polls reflected the public’s trust and marked a significant victory for democratic and parliamentary values in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed the hope that the newly elected chief minister and his cabinet would work dedicatedly for the progress, development, and prosperity of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
