
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has warmly remembered the hospitality he received in Pakistan during the promotion of his 2007 film Awarapan, saying the visit remains one of his most memorable experiences. Speaking in a recent interview, he recalled travelling to Lahore with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and the film’s team, where they received an overwhelming welcome from fans that exceeded all expectations.
Hashmi said he and his team initially had a few concerns before arriving in Pakistan, but those worries quickly disappeared after experiencing the kindness of local people. He described the reception in Lahore as heartfelt and unforgettable, adding that everyone treated them with great warmth during their two-day stay. According to the actor, the visit left him with lasting memories of generosity and genuine affection.

When asked whether he had any reservations about visiting Pakistan, Hashmi dismissed the suggestion and praised the people for their welcoming nature. He said Pakistanis showed remarkable respect and love throughout the trip, making him feel completely comfortable. The actor added that the warmth extended by fans and hosts continues to stand out as one of the highlights of his career.
Hashmi also spoke about the popularity of Hindi films in Pakistan, saying audiences have always shown tremendous enthusiasm for Indian cinema. He recalled that Jannat also received an excellent response in the country, while reports of overcrowded cinemas reflected the strong demand for his films. He credited Pakistani moviegoers for their lasting support and passion for Hindi entertainment over the years.

Meanwhile, Hashmi is promoting Awarapan 2, the sequel to his 2007 cult hit, which reunites audiences with his popular character Shivam Pandit after nearly two decades. He recently thanked fans for keeping the character alive through the years and expressed gratitude for their continued support. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film also stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi and is scheduled for worldwide release on August 14.
