The United States and Iran exchanged another wave of missile, drone and air strikes across the Gulf, further intensifying regional tensions and raising concerns about wider instability. Iran claimed it targeted several US-linked military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, while once again declaring the Strait of Hormuz closed following the collapse of indirect negotiations in Oman.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the latest operation was launched in response to fresh US strikes on Iranian military sites. It claimed attacks on Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, Ali Al Salem and Ahmad Al Jaber air bases in Kuwait, and Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan. Iranian officials also said fuel storage facilities and ammunition depots were damaged during the strikes.
Meanwhile, Iran announced additional operations targeting US military facilities in Bahrain and radar systems in Oman, while claiming it destroyed a US LUCAS drone near Bandar Abbas. However, Jordan rejected parts of Iran’s account, saying its air defence systems intercepted four Iranian missiles that entered its airspace, causing neither casualties nor material damage.

As the conflict spread, Bahrain activated emergency sirens and urged residents to seek safe shelter, while authorities confirmed they intercepted several incoming aerial threats. Kuwait also reported engaging hostile targets in its airspace after Iran claimed attacks on US-linked military positions, including HIMARS launchers. Although officials initially reported no casualties, later updates confirmed one worker was injured in an attack on an oil drilling platform.
The latest escalation also reached Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, expanding the conflict to six Gulf states within a single day. Qatar reported three injuries from falling debris, Oman protested to Iran after drone attacks, and the UAE intercepted missile threats outside its borders. Meanwhile, US forces launched another large-scale operation against Iran, striking more than 300 military targets over three nights to reduce threats to commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
