The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was attended by senior federal ministers, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmad, and other officials. Participants reviewed economic challenges linked to regional uncertainty and discussed measures to maintain stability. The prime minister called for complete preparedness to handle potential risks.

Shehbaz Sharif said rising regional tensions could affect the country’s economic outlook. He urged citizens and institutions to adopt a culture of savings, similar to previous austerity campaigns. He stressed the need for timely planning to address any emerging challenges.
The prime minister said the government had effectively managed fuel supplies and protected consumers from rising prices. He highlighted targeted subsidies that helped reduce the impact on ordinary citizens, motorcyclists, rickshaw drivers, and transporters.

Officials briefed the meeting that Pakistan has sufficient petroleum reserves to meet domestic requirements. They said arrangements have also been completed to ensure future supplies.
