Accountability court resumes hearing of Avenfield properties reference case

Published on: March 29, 2018 2:03 PM

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court on Thursday will resumed case proceedings against Nawaz Sharif and family in Avenfiled properties reference case.

Nawaz’s counsel Khawaja Haris resumed cross-examination of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Additional Director and former Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head of Panama Papers case Wajid Zia.

During the previous hearing on March 28 Haris had questioned if the witness had any evidence to prove Nawaz Sharif’s ownership of Avenfield properties. The star witness stated that no sound evidence or documents revealed such a fact, but Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz owned the properties from 1993-1996.

Zia also informed the court that the documents submitted to the JIT by the Sharifs were forged.

Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif along with daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar have been charged in Avenfield properties reference case (London). The case proceedings completed its key witness statement recording on Tuesday.
