Harnai-Punjab National Highway traffic suspended as water streams flood in Quetta

Published on: June 18, 2018 2:43 PM

QUETTA: Traffic on Monday was suspended on the National Highway in the Harnai district near Quetta after heavy rains led to overflow of water streams.

The traffic flow was suspended from three points on the Harnai-Punjab National Highway  after the road was blocked.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), heavy downpour caused flooding in streams and rivers in Quetta.

However, Levies officials are working on the flooded site so that the difficulties being faced by the vacationers and transporters due to the flooding can be fixed.

Earlier PMD, had issued alerts that the Monsoon season would be starting by the end of June. Carious districts in Balochistan including Harnai, Kohlu and Sheerani  have experienced early monsoon rains.

Rain and strong winds also lashed Peshawar and various cities in Punjab including Multan, Pakpattan, Rajanpur and Khanewal.

According to PMD’s forecast Mardan, Kohat, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Islamabad will experience rains today.
