CM KP takes notice of Peshawar DC’s ominous remarks about poll preparations

Published on: July 24, 2018 2:10 PM

PESHAWAR: The caretaker Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Justice (r) Dost Muhammad Khan took notice on Tuesday of the Peshawar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imran Hamid Sheikh’s remarks about ominous election preparations.

In a video footage which went viral on social media, Sheikh could be seen talking about the preparedness of the Peshawar district administration during the general election 2018.

In the video, he stated that his administration has prepared a thousand coffins to deal with an emergency situation on July 25, the day of polls.

CM KP has taken notice of such ‘irresponsible statement’ by the Peshawar DC and a show cause notice will be served to him.

According to a notification issued by the CM House Secretariat, the provincial government said that the government officials were forbidden to give remarks about policy matters.

The notification read, “The deputy commissioner’s video statement is a distasteful joke to spread fear and panic in voters.”
