NA-108 vote recount: PTI’s Farrukh Habib retains seat against Abid Sher Ali

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Farrukh Habib has been declared the winner of NA-108 Faisalabad against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Abid Sher Ali after a vote recount.

According to the Form 47 issued by the returning officer after the recount, Habib got 112,029 votes followed by PML-N candidate who managed to get 110,828 votes.

The initial results of July 25 polls had declared Habib winner with 112,740 votes followed by Abid Sher who bagged 111,529.

Rejecting the results, the PML-N candidate had requested for the vote recount.

Earlier today, Awami National Party (ANP)’s candidate, Khush Dil Khan was crowned the victor after recounting in PK-70, Peshawar-5.

Initially, PTI’s candidate Shah Farman was declared the winner in PK-70 with a lead of 47 votes. However, after the ANP candidate demanded a recount, Khush Dil Khan was in the lead with 187 votes.

With this development, ANP’s seats in the KPK assembly have risen to 7 while PTI’s seats are now 65.
