Yousuf Raza Gillani visits BZU VC to inquire about his health

Published on: August 7, 2018 10:04 PM

MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani met Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Vice Chancellor, Professor Doctor Tahir Amin, at VC house and inquired about his health.

The family of the Professor Tahir, along with Director Layyah Campus Dr Hasan Bucha and Registrar Dr Omer Chaudhry, was also present during the meeting.

On August 2, the VC was taken to Intensive Care Unit of Nishtar Hospital after he was found unconscious at his residence located within the premises of university.

Reportedly, the BZU Public Relations Director Dr Sohaib Qadoos informed the journalists that Dr Tahir Amin ‘mistakenly’ consumed a dose of medicine twice and fell unconscious. He was rushed to the Chauhdry Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology, from where he was shifted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan.

The VC had already been taking medicines to recover from a cardiac disease.

Moreover, the VC had been absent from his office for the last 14 days, and was pressurised by a group of professors over some recruitments against merit in the university. He had been living alone in the university.  However, Dr Sohaib Qadoos denied all these allegations. Meanwhile, the Additional VC Dr Bashir Ahmad has taken the charge of VC.
