GT and DC aim to stay in the race as IPL 2025 hits midpoint

Published on: April 19, 2025 2:44 PM

As the IPL 2025 season approaches its midpoint, Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are looking to build on their strong starts. DC has secured five wins, while GT follows closely with four victories, both having played six matches. This matchup marks a significant moment, officially bringing both teams to their halfway point in the tournament.

GT has a balanced approach with a top-heavy batting lineup complemented by strong bowling. This strategy has worked well, with two wins each whether batting first or second. However, GT recently faced a setback against LSG in Lucknow. Shubman Gill’s team still boasts talent, with key performances from Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler covering for the captain’s lean patch.

DC enters the game after a thrilling Super Over victory against Rajasthan Royals. Under Axar Patel’s leadership, they have shown resilience, often snatching wins from tough situations. Despite Faf du Plessis’s absence, KL Rahul has stepped up as a crucial player, supported by emerging talent like Tristan Stubbs. Their bowling attack is also impressive, focusing on their spin trio to dominate matches.

This fixture at the Narendra Modi Stadium is set to be exciting, with favorable batting conditions evident in previous games. Both teams have strengths and strategies that could tip the balance. Fans can expect an evenly contested battle as GT and DC aim to strengthen their positions in the tournament standings.
