The Supreme Court issued a detailed verdict on the Noor Mukaddam murder case, upholding Zaheer Jaffar’s death sentence. The court described him as a ruthless killer who is undeserving of any mercy. It fully agreed with the earlier judgments of the trial court and Islamabad High Court, declaring both decisions legally sound.
The court accepted strong evidence including CCTV footage, DVR recordings, and hard disk data showing Zaheer Jaffar physically abusing Noor Mukaddam before killing her. Experts confirmed no tampering with the recordings, and Zaheer’s identity in the videos was verified beyond doubt.
Further, the court cited DNA reports confirming the rape, and forensic evidence found Noor Mukaddam’s blood on the murder weapon. Zaheer Jaffar failed to provide any reasonable explanation for her presence at the crime scene. Therefore, the court maintained his death sentence, while commuting the rape sentence to life imprisonment.
The case dates back to 2021 when Zaheer Jaffar tortured and killed Noor Mukaddam in Islamabad. The trial court sentenced him to death for the murder and life imprisonment for the rape. The Islamabad High Court later upheld this judgment after hearing Zaheer’s appeal.
Zaheer Jaffar’s final appeal to the Supreme Court was rejected, ending his legal battle. The Supreme Court’s decision is seen as a firm message against violence, ensuring justice for Noor Mukaddam and her family.
