Ishaq Dar to present Pakistan’s stance at 51st OIC foreign ministers’ meeting

Published on: June 20, 2025 12:48 PM

ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan at the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, set to take place in Türkiye on June 21-22, 2025. He will address key global and regional issues during the high-level session.

During the plenary, Ishaq Dar will highlight Pakistan’s position on recent developments in South Asia, particularly following the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India. He will also speak about the situation in the Middle East after Israel’s aggressive actions against Iran and other neighboring countries.

Importantly, the Deputy Prime Minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s strong support for the Palestinian cause. He will emphasize the urgent need for peace in the Middle East and call for immediate humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza, who continue to suffer under harsh conditions.

In addition, Ishaq Dar will urge the international community to act against the rising wave of Islamophobia and extremism. He will also raise concerns about global challenges such as terrorism and climate change, calling for joint efforts to tackle these pressing issues.

The Foreign Minister will use this platform to reaffirm Pakistan’s dedication to the goals and principles of the OIC. He will stress the importance of unity among Muslim nations and the need to strengthen collective efforts for the welfare of the Ummah.

On the sidelines of the session, Ishaq Dar will meet with foreign ministers from other OIC member states to discuss bilateral matters. He will also attend the OIC Youth Forum Grand Youth Award ceremony, where Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be honored.
