ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday announced that a comprehensive and coordinated security plan has been finalized for Muharram across the country to ensure peace and safety.
During a visit to the Central Imambargah Asna Ashari in Sector G-6, Islamabad, Naqvi reviewed the security and administrative arrangements alongside Minister of State Talal Chaudhry. He closely inspected the security setup and met with the Imambargah’s management.
The administrators expressed satisfaction with the preparations and coordination between law enforcement agencies. Naqvi assured them that the government has raised the security alert and is monitoring miscreants closely to prevent any threats from what he called “cowardly enemies.”
Importantly, the minister confirmed that army troops will be deployed across all provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, to support local administrations during Muharram. He said the military’s presence will help ensure public order throughout the month.
DIG Islamabad Police briefed Naqvi on the security measures in place, while Federal Secretary for Interior Khurram Agha and SSP Shoaib were also present. Authorities reaffirmed their resolve to maintain a peaceful environment for all religious gatherings and processions.
With Muharram approaching, the federal government has emphasized that security forces are fully prepared to handle any situation, aiming to protect the lives and rights of all citizens during this holy period.
