His performance made him the highest-ranked Asian rider at the competition. France’s Camille Lejeune took the top spot, but Khan’s result was enough to confirm qualification. According to the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, all competitors must meet MER standards to participate in the Asian Games. Khan achieved those standards across dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.
The contest also featured strong team standings. Pakistan placed second behind hosts France in the “Battle of Nations,” defeating regional rivals India. India’s rider Ashish Limaye finished ninth overall. The competition was dramatic across three days, with Khan’s fast clear cross-country round and double-clear show jumping proving decisive.
After the event, Khan expressed his pride. “Alhamdulillah, to qualify for the Asian Games while placing Pakistan second in the team standings is a proud moment,” he said. He also praised the level of competition, noting that the world’s best riders came together in France.
