Published on: November 3, 2025 1:25 PM

LAHORE: Four people, including two women, lost their lives in a tragic accident near MAO College on Monday when a truck carrying bottles overturned onto a rickshaw. Rescue 1122 officials confirmed the incident and said three others, including two children, sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses stated that the mishap occurred when the overloaded truck toppled over, crushing the rickshaw underneath. Authorities identified the deceased as Rabia (40), Reema (10), Rasheeda, and Sameeaa (8). Those injured include Inaamullah (12), Piari (6), Munni (17), Suleman, Awais, Khameeso, and Vijay.

Police have taken the truck into custody and launched an investigation into the accident. The driver, who was transporting onions from Sukkur to Kashmore, reportedly fled the scene.

This accident adds to a series of deadly road mishaps in Pakistan in recent weeks. Earlier in October, a speeding mini truck in Shikarpur ran over people sleeping on a footpath, killing eight and injuring five. The same month, rising Pakistani fashion model and TikTok personality Romaisa Saeed succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident near Faisalabad. Romaisa had gained popularity for her work on the runway and on social media platforms.
