KP CM launches female education card

Published on: November 12, 2025 1:16 AM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated the landmark ‘Insaf Female Education Card’ at a ceremony held at Frontier Women College on Tuesday , signaling a major push for women’s and orphans’ education in the province.

During his address, the Chief Minister announced a series of initiatives aimed at providing free higher education.

He formally launched the Insaf Female Education Card, a phased program through which 55,000 female students will benefit from free education. In a significant additional announcement, he declared that orphan students who pass the MDCAT test will also receive free higher education.

“Empowering women through higher education is our priority,” stated Chief Minister Afridi.

He emphasized that educated women are the cornerstone of a strong, prosperous, and enlightened society. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for women in every field of development.

The Chief Minister hailed the Insaf Education Card as a true symbol of gender equality and a new symbol of hope, confidence, and dignity for women.

He expressed his conviction that, through such measures, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will become a model province in promoting higher education for women.

Reflecting on his government’s record, he stated that transparent and result-oriented steps have been taken in the field of education. To further this agenda, he announced that more funds will be allocated for women’s education in the upcoming budget.

Chief Minister Afridi also directed the relevant authorities to launch an internship program for holders of Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, aiming to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally approved the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) education across all public schools, marking a major shift towards modernising the province’s academic landscape.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting of the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

Under the new initiative, the National Artificial Intelligence Course will be taught from Grade 6 onward in government schools. The Education Department has been directed to take necessary steps to ensure the availability of resources, trained staff, and essential facilities required for the programme.

Officials emphasised that AI education is crucial for preparing students for a rapidly changing world where digital and technological skills are becoming indispensable.

The government aims to equip the youth with the competence needed to compete in future challenges and emerging job markets.

The provincial administration has termed the launch of AI education a “revolutionary step” that will bring significant progress to the education system and empower the next generation with advanced knowledge and capabilities.
