According to an FIA spokesperson, the incident occurred while immigration staff were processing passengers for China Southern Airlines flight CZ8070. During routine checks, officials found that the work visas presented by four passengers were not genuine, prompting authorities to deny them boarding.

The passengers were scheduled to travel to New Zealand and belonged to Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. Following their offloading, the individuals were handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad for further investigation and legal action.

Officials said efforts are under way to identify the agent or network responsible for arranging the forged travel documents. The FIA has repeatedly warned citizens to verify their visas and travel paperwork through official channels to avoid falling victim to fraud and human smuggling rackets.

Meanwhile, the FIA also took part in a seminar organised to mark International Migrants Day, highlighting its broader efforts to promote safe and legal migration. The event was organised by the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) Peshawar of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and held in Mardan.

According to an FIA press release, the seminar aimed to raise awareness about safe, orderly and regular migration and brought together representatives from multiple government institutions and civil society organisations. Deputy Director (Public Relations) FIA Headquarters Islamabad, Mehmood Ali Khokhar, and Deputy Director FIA Mardan Circle, Riaz Jangtua, represented the agency at the event.

They briefed participants on FIA initiatives to combat human smuggling, enhance public awareness and strengthen coordination among law enforcement and regulatory bodies. The speakers stressed that public cooperation and awareness were essential to tackling illegal migration and document fraud.

Assistant Director of the Protectorate of Emigrants Peshawar, Sajid Umer, highlighted the services offered by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, while President of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zahir Shah, also addressed the gathering.
