Princess Charlotte reacts as fan tells George 'Diana would be proud'

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children once again charmed royal watchers as they joined the family for the traditional Christmas Day walk to church at Sandringham, where a heartfelt moment between siblings quietly stole the spotlight.

Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, greeted well-wishers after the festive service, exchanging smiles, handshakes and warm wishes of “Merry Christmas.” The young royals were showered with gifts and flowers, with aides helping manage the growing pile as the children moved along the crowd with confidence and ease.

One particularly touching exchange unfolded when royal supporter John Loughrey spoke to Prince George about his recent public engagement at The Passage charity. After being introduced by Prince William, the emotional fan addressed the young prince directly.

“George, I’ve got something to say to you. Granny Diana would be ever so proud of you,” he said, before adding that the late Princess of Wales would be proud of all three children. Prince George responded with a polite smile and a quiet “thank you,” while Prince William expressed appreciation for the kind words.

Although the comment was directed at George, many observers later noticed Princess Charlotte’s subtle but heartfelt response. In footage captured from another angle, Charlotte can be seen gently reaching out to pat her older brother on the back, a simple gesture that spoke volumes about the close bond the siblings share.

Royal fans online praised the moment, noting the pride visible on Charlotte’s face as she stood beside George. Some compared her supportive reaction to that of her mother, Princess Kate, who is often admired for her quiet encouragement of her children during public engagements.

The exchange offered a rare glimpse into the strong family dynamic between the Prince and Princess of Wales’ children. Amid the formality of royal tradition, Charlotte’s small but meaningful gesture highlighted the warmth and unity at the heart of the young generation of the monarchy.
