Taking to Instagram, the 65-year-old musician explained that producer Bhushan Kumar had already acknowledged his contribution with respect and warmth. Malik stated that the collaboration around the recreated track was transparent and something he was genuinely proud to be associated with.

“This is a unique collaboration that I am genuinely proud of, and I have also shared my thoughts publicly across my social media platforms,” Malik wrote. He further emphasised that reports suggesting any dispute or misunderstanding were based on incorrect information.

The clarification came after confusion arose over the credits of Ghar Kab Aaoge, which is a recreated version of the iconic song Sandese Aate Hain from the 1997 war classic Border. The original track was composed by Anu Malik, written by Javed Akhtar, and went on to become one of Bollywood’s most memorable patriotic songs.

In the recreated version, composer Mithoon has added new musical elements, while Manoj Muntashir has contributed additional lyrics. Malik and Akhtar were later credited in the teaser, addressing concerns raised by fans and industry observers.

Earlier, Malik had told PTI that while the song was being recreated, he was confident that due credit would be given for the original composition. He had stressed that Border 2 could not exist without Sandese Aate Hain, highlighting the lasting legacy of the song.

Sandese Aate Hain, originally sung by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod, continues to hold a special place in Indian cinema for its emotional portrayal of soldiers and their families.

The upcoming sequel, Border 2, is the next chapter in the iconic war film franchise and is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026. With the clarification now issued, attention has shifted back to anticipation surrounding the film’s release.
