FIA registers case against Najaf Hameed over alleged forged land transfers

Published on: January 5, 2026 4:17 PM

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against Najaf Hameed, brother of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Faiz Hameed, over alleged land transfers using forged documents.

The complaint, filed with the FIA’s Anti-Corruption Cell in Islamabad, also names Abdul Zahoor and Khalid Munir as accused. At the time of the alleged offense, Najaf Hameed was serving as a patwari, or land record officer, in the capital. The FIA initiated the formal case after completing its preliminary inquiry.

The development comes shortly after Faiz Hameed, who served as DG ISI, was sentenced in December 2025 to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment. Hameed was convicted on multiple charges, including engaging in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority, and causing wrongful loss, following a Field General Court Martial process that began on August 12, 2024.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Hameed’s trial lasted over 15 months, and he was found guilty on all charges. The ISPR statement noted that the proceedings involved four major counts, all related to compromising the safety and interests of the state and misusing official authority.

The case against Najaf Hameed marks the latest development in a series of investigations linked to the former ISI chief and his family, highlighting scrutiny over alleged corruption and misuse of official powers within the security establishment.
