CM Bugti claims 70% reduction in crime rate across Quetta

Published on: January 29, 2026 2:18 AM

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a sharp decline in crime in Quetta, saying that the city has witnessed a 70 percent reduction over the past two months due to effective government policies and the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies. In a statement shared on social media platform X, Sarfraz Bugti described the reduction as clear evidence that the provincial government’s strategy is moving in the right direction. The Chief Minister emphasized that modern technology is being actively utilized to safeguard citizens’ lives and property. He revealed that under the Quetta Safe City Project, 97 percent of surveillance cameras have been restored and made fully operational, strengthening the monitoring system and playing a key role in preventing criminal activity. Sarfraz Bugti noted that the provincial government is pursuing effective and coordinated measures to improve peace and security across Balochistan in a gradual but sustainable manner. He reaffirmed that a zero-tolerance policy is being implemented against terrorists and criminal elements, with indiscriminate action underway to eliminate all threats to public safety. Chief Minister praised the Balochistan Police for acting as the frontline force in the fight against terrorism and crime, fulfilling their responsibilities with professionalism, dedication, and sacrifice to protect the lives and property of the public.
