China and Pakistan have signed new agreements to enhance collaboration in livestock technology and agricultural research, aiming to boost innovation and economic growth under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Moreover, the agreements mark a strategic step in deepening bilateral ties in science, technology, and training.
The collaboration follows a visit by Jinan Animal Husbandry Industry Craftsman College to Pakistan in January during the 2026 China-Pakistan Agriculture Investment Conference. During this visit, officials from both countries signed multiple documents to formalize technical and industrial cooperation.

Among the agreements, a Framework Agreement on Industrial and Technological Cooperation and Talent Training was signed with the Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry to establish a China-Pakistan Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Industry Technology Cooperation Center. This center will focus on research, standard-setting, and customized training programs.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with GO DAIRY Private Limited to transfer advanced sheep in vitro fertilization technology and dairy cow breeding techniques. Technical guidance will also be provided to address production challenges in Pakistan’s livestock sector.

Chinese and Pakistani experts also reached consensus with the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences to collaborate on curriculum development and establish a joint training base, aiming to strengthen knowledge transfer and develop skilled professionals in the field.
The agreements will prioritize three key areas of cooperation: Himalayan pink salt application, sheep in vitro fertilization, and dairy cow breeding, with plans to set up a joint laboratory for technology localization and practical research support.
