Fitna Al-Khawarij set fire to a Rescue ambulance in Karak

Karak: Several security personnel lost their lives after an ambulance transporting injured officers was ambushed and torched in the Qila Shahidan area of Karak district, officials confirmed on Monday.

According to security sources, suspected militants initially targeted a Federal Constabulary post using a quadcopter device, leaving multiple officers wounded. In response, two Rescue 1122 ambulances were dispatched to evacuate the injured personnel from the scene.

However, while returning from the area, both ambulances reportedly came under fire from unidentified armed assailants. One of the vehicles was set on fire during the attack, resulting in the deaths of the injured personnel inside. The second ambulance managed to leave the area safely and transport its occupants to medical facilities.

The ambulance driver and a Rescue 1122 staff member sustained burn injuries in the incident. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Bannu and Karak, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Officials identified the deceased as Sepoy Murad Gul, Sepoy Ayan Khan, and Lance Naik Adil Khan, all residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Several other personnel remain under medical care.

Authorities condemned the attack, describing it as a grave violation of humanitarian norms, particularly as it targeted wounded individuals and emergency responders. Security forces have launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to apprehend those responsible.
