Published on: March 3, 2026 5:15 PM

Pakistan repelled a series of cross-border attacks by the Afghan Taliban in northern Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least 67 militants, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed on March 3.

The assaults targeted multiple locations, including Qila Saifullah, Nushki, and Chaman districts in Balochistan, with fire raids at 25 sites, but Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted all attacks and maintained control.

In retaliation, the Pakistan Army killed 27 Afghan Taliban operatives in Balochistan while several others were injured. One soldier of FC Balochistan North embraced martyrdom, and five personnel sustained injuries defending the country.

The clashes also extended to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where a ground attack was attempted at one location, alongside fire raids at 12 sites. Security forces foiled all attacks without suffering casualties.

Operations continued through the night in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of 40 Afghan Taliban militants. Follow-up missions are ongoing to eliminate remaining threats, according to Minister Tarar.

The minister praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their vigilance and readiness, emphasizing the country’s resolve to respond decisively to any aggression and secure the nation’s borders effectively.
