Heavy rains bring pleasant weather across Punjab and KP

Published on: March 12, 2026 3:55 PM

Moderate to heavy rainfall across Lahore and several regions of the country brought a noticeable change in weather conditions on Wednesday night, providing relief from rising temperatures. The showers cooled the atmosphere and created a pleasant environment in many urban and rural areas, particularly across parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Lahore experienced steady rainfall that refreshed the provincial capital and significantly reduced the daytime heat. Meanwhile, several other cities in Punjab, including Mianwali and Sargodha, also received heavy rain, which improved weather conditions and lowered temperatures across surrounding districts during the night.

In addition, Attock and its nearby areas witnessed intense weather activity as hailstorms accompanied heavy rainfall. The strong showers created dramatic changes in the atmosphere, while residents across different localities reported cooler winds and cloudy skies following the rain.

Similarly, rain was recorded in Peshawar and nearby regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the showers helped ease the warm conditions that had persisted in recent days. The rainfall also contributed to a drop in temperatures, bringing temporary relief to residents and improving overall air quality in the region.

Several other towns across Punjab also experienced thunderstorms and rain during the night. Areas including Kundian, Phalia, Chashma, and Pind Dadan Khan received significant rainfall, while intermittent showers continued in Bhalwal and nearby localities, accompanied by thunder in Muridke and surrounding regions.

Meanwhile, rain also reached parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where cooler weather returned after the showers. In the mountainous areas, light snowfall was reported, further lowering temperatures and creating winter-like conditions in higher elevations.
