PCB takes legal action against Muzarabani

Published on: March 14, 2026 1:45 AM

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to take legal action against Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani. The action follows Muzarabani violating his contract by signing with the IPL. He withdrew from PSL 11 after agreeing to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.

Muzarabani’s decision breached the agreement he had with PCB and Islamabad United. The board stated that signing with another league during PSL’s tenure is a clear contract violation. PCB’s management confirmed that all necessary legal steps would now be taken against the player.

This is not the first time PCB has taken such action. Last year, South African cricketer Corbin Bosch also faced legal proceedings for violating PSL agreements. PCB emphasized that strict compliance with contracts is essential to maintain league integrity.

The Islamabad United management expressed disappointment over Muzarabani’s move. They said the team had planned their bowling strategy around his participation in PSL 11. The breach leaves a gap in the squad that must now be filled before the tournament progresses.

PCB has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for players violating PSL contracts. Officials stated that any future breaches will be met with similar strict actions to protect the league’s credibility. Legal notices have reportedly been served to Muzarabani.
