Chasing a challenging target of 291, Pakistan were bowled out for 279 in their allotted 50 overs after suffering early setbacks. Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed struck in the opening over to dismiss Sahibzada Farhan, while Nahid Rana removed Maaz Sadaqat shortly after, leaving Pakistan struggling at 12-2.

Taskin dealt another early blow by clean bowling Mohammad Rizwan, increasing the pressure on the visitors. Debutants Ghazi Ghori and Abdul Samad attempted to stabilise the innings with a 50-run partnership before Bangladesh struck again to keep Pakistan on the back foot.

Pakistan found hope through a remarkable innings by Salman Ali Agha, who scored a brilliant 106 off 98 balls, bringing up his 10th ODI half-century earlier in the innings before reaching a century. He also shared a valuable partnership with captain Shaheen Shah Afridi to keep Pakistan in the contest.

However, Bangladesh regained control when Taskin claimed his fourth wicket by dismissing Agha. Shaheen continued the fight with a quick 37, but Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain bowled a tight final over to seal the win, with Pakistan falling just short of the target.

Earlier, Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 290 after opting to bat first. Opener Tanzid Hasan starred with a superb 107 off 107 balls, his maiden ODI century, while Saif Hassan contributed 36 in a 105-run opening stand.
