Iranian president warns regional countries on war

Published on: March 28, 2026 11:24 PM

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged regional countries not to allow enemies to wage war from their territories. He emphasized that Iran seeks development and security, not conflict, but will retaliate if targeted. The warning comes amid heightened tensions following US-Israeli strikes.

Pezeshkian stressed on X that Iran does not conduct preemptive attacks but will respond strongly if its infrastructure or economic centers are attacked. He called on neighboring countries to prevent their lands from being used against Iran.

The president addressed the message directly to regional nations, saying, “If you want development and security, don’t let our enemies run the war from your lands.” His statement underscores Iran’s insistence on sovereignty and regional stability.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated since February 28, when US and Israeli forces launched a joint attack on Iranian sites. Reports indicate more than 1,900 casualties, including the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. Officials warn that continued attacks could further destabilize the region and escalate conflict.
