Israeli strikes kill four in Gaza, West Bank

Published on: March 30, 2026 10:17 PM

Israeli air and ground operations killed at least four Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank on Monday, local medics reported. Three were killed by an airstrike near Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, while a 22-year-old man was shot near Hebron.

The Gaza fatalities occurred despite a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect over five months ago, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region. Health officials said two others were wounded in the airstrike, and there was no immediate Israeli military comment.

The West Bank victim, identified as Ramzi Awawada, was shot by Israeli forces. Palestinian security sources accused soldiers of preventing rescuers from reaching him, while Israel said he ran at troops with a knife.

Since the Iran conflict began last month, health officials report at least 50 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces. The unrest comes amid Israel’s broader military campaign against Iran and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Rights groups warn Israeli settlers have exploited wartime movement restrictions to attack Palestinians, with roadblocks slowing ambulance access. At least five Palestinians in the West Bank have died in such attacks since February 28, according to Palestinian authorities.
