The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorms in Karachi on Thursday, along with other areas of Sindh from April 2 to 4, due to a new westerly wave approaching from Balochistan.

According to the PMD’s daily weather outlook issued on Tuesday, the westerly wave is expected to reach southwestern Balochistan on April 1 and persist until April 4, affecting weather patterns across the region.
For Karachi, the forecast predicts partly cloudy weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday’s temperatures are expected to reach a high of 29–31°C and a low of 22.7°C, with daytime humidity around 54 percent and evening levels dropping to 40–50 percent. Winds from the west/southwest will prevail. On Wednesday, highs of 30–32°C and lows of 22–24°C are expected, along with higher daytime humidity of 65–75 percent and a shift from northwesterly to west/southwesterly winds.
Thursday is expected to bring mostly cloudy skies, with chances of wind, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy rainfall. Temperatures will slightly drop, with highs of 28–30°C and lows of 20–22°C, while daytime humidity may reach 70–80 percent, tapering to 50–60 percent in the evening.
The PMD also issued warnings for other districts of Sindh, including Jamshoro, Larkana, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, and others, predicting windstorms, hailstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy rainfall. Authorities advised farmers to protect crops and manage agricultural activities according to the forecast.

The PMD further noted that daytime temperatures are likely to decrease during the forecast period. Residents are advised to remain cautious of strong winds, thunderstorms, and potential hail that may affect weak structures and outdoor activities.
