Speaking to media in Lahore, Rana said the situation at the team hotel had been reported inaccurately. He stressed that the franchise respects all security protocols, adding that such measures are essential for the smooth conduct of matches.

Addressing the matter, Rana confirmed that the team management had imposed a fine on Shaheen Afridi to set an example. “We fined the captain to send a message. Such situations can arise in team environments, but actions are being taken where necessary,” he said.

In a statement, Qalandars said they had imposed the fine on their captain to “maintain discipline and impose accountability” https://t.co/NgCDYXup5U

The controversy emerged following reports that Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza allegedly breached security arrangements by bringing guests into a restricted area. However, Rana maintained that there was no attempt to defy authority or forcibly bypass security personnel.

Commenting on team performance, he said Lahore Qalandars gained confidence after winning their opening match, while acknowledging that the second game was a low-scoring contest despite a competitive effort. He expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, emphasizing unity within the squad.

Rana also addressed allegations of ball tampering during a match against Karachi Kings, stating that match officials are handling the matter. He affirmed that the franchise would respect any decision taken, underscoring their commitment to fair play.

He further highlighted that Lahore Qalandars have a long-term agreement with Zimbabwe Cricket, under which players are participating in training programs.
