Speaking during an interview in Karachi, Tariq said that success in the game depends on delivering quality bowling rather than relying on style or perception. He noted that while players may gain attention for their unique actions, it is ultimately effectiveness on the field that determines impact.
The spinner highlighted that Karachi’s pitch conditions generally favor spin bowling, which could play a key role in upcoming matches. However, he added that final strategies are always shaped after assessing match-day conditions.
Tariq, who has previously participated in domestic competitions such as the Sindh Premier League, said his primary objective remains contributing to his team’s success. He stressed that helping Quetta Gladiators secure victories and compete for the title is his main focus.
Reflecting on his development, Tariq said that exposure to international cricket has boosted his confidence and mental strength. He explained that higher-level experience helps players perform better in league competitions by improving decision-making under pressure.
Discussing his bowling approach, Tariq said he does not target specific batters, instead treating every wicket as equally valuable. He also acknowledged the evolving nature of T20 cricket, where the format increasingly favors batters, requiring bowlers to adapt with smarter strategies and disciplined execution.
He added that bowlers must adjust plans based on each batter’s intent and match situations, whether aiming to build pressure through dot balls or forcing risky shots.
