Shehbaz Sharif begins Gulf tour in Saudi Arabia

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Saudi Arabia on an official visit, marking the start of a three-country diplomatic tour. He landed in Jeddah on Wednesday, where he was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by the Governor of Jeddah. The visit is aimed at strengthening regional partnerships and economic cooperation.

During the Saudi Arabia visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Discussions are expected to focus on bilateral relations, investment opportunities, and regional security issues. Senior Pakistani officials are accompanying him on the trip.

The Prime Minister’s delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Atta Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. The visit is part of a broader diplomatic engagement covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye. Officials say the tour will focus on enhancing political and economic ties.

After Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister will travel to Qatar for further high-level meetings. He will also participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye. There, he is expected to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other global leaders.

The government says the tour aims to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional peace and stability. The visits come amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East. Further details of agreements or announcements are expected after the meetings conclude.
