With the support of the Pakistan Media Foundation Islamabad, an event titled “Dialogue with Journalistic and Literary Personalities” was held in Journalists Colony. Additional XEN (Executive Engineer) Journalists Colony, Sagheer Ahmed, was the chief guest.
Sagheer Ahmed stated that journalism is a respected profession and plays a major role in the development and progress of the country. He mentioned that he has been posted in different areas of Lahore, and when he was at Batapur, the residents of Journalists Colony faced many difficulties. Now, the office has been shifted to a location just about three minutes away from Journalists Colony.
He further said that efforts are being made to improve the electricity system and ensure better supply in Journalists Colony. Electricity theft has been controlled, and work is ongoing for the improvement of the area. He added that he is always available to serve the resident journalists of Journalists Colony and that overbilling has been eliminated. He emphasized that they are working day and night to improve the system in Journalists Colony.
