Pakistan Army hits Afghan Taliban positions in Chaman

Published on: April 28, 2026 5:15 PM

Security forces destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts in the Chaman sector of Balochistan on Tuesday, according to security sources. The action followed reported unprovoked cross-border aggression from Afghan Taliban forces and militants. The incident is significant as it reflects ongoing tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Officials said the operation was conducted under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. They reported that several positions, including Sarshan, Al-Marjan, and Edhi posts, were targeted. Vehicles and installations linked to the alleged attackers were also destroyed. Security sources said the response was swift and coordinated.

Moreover, authorities stated that the operation aimed to counter threats from across the border. They reiterated that Pakistan would continue actions until all objectives are achieved. Officials also warned that hostile elements and their networks would be eliminated. The military emphasized its commitment to border defence.

Additionally, Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan Taliban to dismantle militant sanctuaries inside Afghanistan. Officials claim these locations are linked to banned groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Islamabad says its concerns have not been addressed despite repeated diplomatic engagement. Cross-border attacks have continued to fuel tensions.

Finally, this latest operation follows similar incidents in other border regions. Security forces recently responded to attacks in South Waziristan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Officials said multiple militants were neutralized in earlier engagements. The campaign is ongoing as authorities seek to secure border areas and prevent further attacks.
