Pakistan, China sign JV, MoUs to boost CPEC cooperation

A signing ceremony of two MoUs and an agreement between Pakistan and China was held in Sanya, China, in which President Asif Ali Zardari attended. A documentary film based on the 75-year friendship between Pakistan and China was also screened during the ceremony. On this occasion, several agreements related to construction machinery, animal health, and medical technology were signed between the two countries.

Once of the MoUs was signed between Al-Hasan Trade Establishment, Sini International Development, and Henan Jiaolong International Technology, under which the supply of construction machinery and equipment related to CPEC will be promoted through trilateral cooperation. Investment opportunities for setting up factories in Pakistan will also be explored. The MoU was signed by Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Vice President of Sini Group Li Chen, and Chairman Hao Jiaolong.

Additionally, a joint venture agreement was also signed for the supply of vaccines for animal health in Pakistan, especially foot-and-mouth disease vaccines. The agreement also includes a clause for future cooperation on the implementation of animal track-and-trace systems. It was signed by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Chairman of Luoyang Modern Biology Group, Wang Shanpu.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of medical technology was signed between Dr Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen Weibang Technology, aimed at promoting the modern use of intelligent medical robots in clinical medicine. The MoU was signed by Dr. Anup Kumar Davani of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital and Mr. Deng Haitao, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Weibang Technology.

The ceremony was also attended by Special Assistant Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Chief Secretary Sindh, Ali Hassan Brohi, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi.
