A Pakistani Hajj pilgrim has been reunited with his lost belongings, including 4,308 Saudi riyals, after the “Lost and Found Cell” of the Pakistan Hajj Mission successfully traced and returned the items in Makkah.
According to officials, the incident involved Lahore-based pilgrim Usman Shahid, who had travelled to Jeddah via Saudi Airlines to perform Hajj. Upon arrival at the airport, he accidentally misplaced his Ihram belt, which contained cash amounting to 4,308 Saudi riyals (approximately 3.25 lakh Pakistani rupees).

The belt was later found at Jeddah Airport by members of the Pakistani Hajj Mission’s ground team. However, since no identification documents or name were attached to the item, officials initially faced difficulty in tracing its owner.
The recovered item was handed over to the Lost and Found Cell and transferred safely to Makkah for further verification. Meanwhile, Usman Shahid independently reported the missing belt and cash after reaching his accommodation in Makkah.
Officials said the Lost and Found Cell verified his claim through detailed matching of descriptions, exact cash amount, and other identifying details provided by the pilgrim.
After complete verification, the authorities formally handed over the recovered money and belt to Usman Shahid in Makkah.
The pilgrim, who is currently staying in building number 301 in Makkah, expressed deep relief and gratitude upon receiving his belongings. He said he was extremely worried after losing the money but was impressed by the swift response and honesty of the Pakistani Hajj Mission staff.
He also thanked both the Government of Pakistan and Saudi authorities for providing effective arrangements and dedicated staff to assist pilgrims during Hajj.

Officials from the Hajj Mission said the Lost and Found Cell is actively working to assist pilgrims and resolve issues quickly during the pilgrimage season.
They advised pilgrims to take extra care of their belongings and immediately report any loss to the nearest assistance centre for timely recovery and support.
