Punjab announces establishment of insurance company

Published on: May 13, 2026 9:53 AM

Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Punjab, Azma Bokhari, has said that several landmark decisions in the public interest were taken during the recent Punjab Cabinet meeting under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

She emphasized that the Chief Minister consistently prioritizes public welfare and convenience in every cabinet session, with all government initiatives focused on improving the lives of ordinary citizens.

Azma Bokhari told that the Punjab Government has formally approved the establishment of its own insurance company. Under this initiative, insurance facilities will be extended not only to government employees but also to the general public, marking a revolutionary step towards strengthening social protection.

The Provincial Minister further said that the cabinet paid tribute to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the successful operation in the Katcha areas. For the first time in history, a substantial fund of PKR 23 billion has been allocated for the sustainable development of these regions. The Chief Minister has also directed that residents of the Katcha areas be given priority under the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” scheme.

Azma Bokhari further said that Maryam Nawaz is personally committed to supporting farmers across Punjab. The “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” scheme has received an overwhelming public response, with over 200,000 applications submitted so far, and 30,000 plots already identified.

She added that the cabinet has also approved an increase in funds for the Minority Card to enhance financial support for minority communities.

Highlighting the government’s performance, Azma Bokhari stressed that in Punjab projects are no longer just announced but are completed within days. The completion of development projects ahead of schedule has now become a nationwide benchmark set by the Punjab Government.

In a spirit of goodwill, the Minister stated that if any other province in Pakistan seeks guidance or assistance from the Punjab Government for development projects, its doors remain open. “Our goal is the progress and service of the entire country,” she concluded.
