A Karachi court on Wednesday approved a three-day physical remand of drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky, handing custody of the suspect to police for further investigation.
According to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South, the police had earlier sought physical remand, which was initially rejected by the court. However, investigators later re-submitted the request, which was accepted on Wednesday. Officials said that details of the suspect’s previous cases have also been collected as part of the ongoing investigation.
Anmol alias Pinky was arrested during a joint operation conducted by the City police and a civil agency from an apartment in the Garden area. Authorities said a large quantity of narcotics worth millions of rupees, along with a pistol, chemicals and other drug-related material, were recovered from her possession.
Investigators further claimed that the suspect had been involved in drug preparation activities at the residence, while operating a wider supply network based in Karachi. Investigators revealed that the accused had reportedly contracted a second marriage with a former police inspector. The house, from where she was arrested, was a rented property allegedly being used for drug-related activities. Police said further investigations were underway to trace other individuals linked to the alleged narcotics network.
