KARACHI: Police have arrested a woman accused of drug trafficking along with her two sons in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area during an operation targeting wanted suspects.

According to police officials, the suspect, identified as Shireen alias Sherina, was taken into custody near Kamran Chowrangi. Authorities allege that she was involved in the sale and distribution of heroin, hashish and other narcotics in the area.

Investigators said the woman had previously been arrested and served a prison sentence before being released around two years ago. Following her release, law enforcement agencies continued to monitor her activities as part of ongoing anti-narcotics operations.

Police records indicate that approximately 35 cases have been registered against the suspect over the years. Officials stated that one of the cases involved the alleged recovery of a hand grenade from her possession, adding to the seriousness of the charges previously brought against her.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly used her residential flat as a base for drug-related activities. Police claimed that narcotics were supplied directly to customers through a window of the apartment, allowing transactions to take place without individuals entering the premises.

The arrests come amid intensified efforts by Karachi police to dismantle narcotics networks operating in different parts of the city. Authorities have recently launched several operations targeting individuals allegedly involved in the supply and distribution of illegal drugs.

Police officials said further interrogation of the suspect and her sons is underway to determine the scope of the alleged network and identify any associates who may have been involved in the operation.

Law enforcement agencies are also examining whether the suspects maintained links with other criminal groups active in the city. Officials noted that additional arrests could be made as the investigation progresses.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released further details regarding the evidence collected during the operation.
