Australia beat Pakistan by 41 runs

Published on: June 3, 2026 12:36 AM

Australia defeated Pakistan by 41 runs in the second One Day International at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday. The result is important as it levels momentum in the three-match series. The defeat affects Pakistan’s chances of securing the series at home.

Australia batted first after Pakistan won the toss and opted to field. The visitors posted 231 for nine in their 50 overs. Cameron Green and captain Josh Inglis led the batting effort with half-centuries, while Matt Renshaw contributed a valuable 43 runs.

Pakistan’s bowling attack made early breakthroughs to restrict the total. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets, while Arafat Minhas, Abrar Ahmed, and Haris Rauf claimed two wickets each. However, Australia managed to build enough partnerships to reach a competitive score.

In response, Pakistan struggled to maintain momentum during the chase. Regular fall of wickets prevented any sustained partnership from developing. The batting side failed to reach the required target despite playing at home conditions.

The series now moves to the final match with both teams aiming for a decisive win. Australia will look to carry momentum forward, while Pakistan will seek a strong comeback to level the series. The final ODI is expected to decide the overall outcome.
