The Counter Terrorism Department Punjab carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in the Koh-e-Suleman mountainous region, killing two terrorists, including a commander, during a fierce exchange of fire in the tribal area of Tuman Qaisrani. According to a CTD spokesperson on Saturday, the operation was launched on credible and actionable intelligence regarding the presence of 12 to 15 armed terrorists in the remote tribal belt. The militants were reportedly planning subversive and terrorist activities in the settled areas of Koh-e-Suleman, Vehova, and Taunsa. The CTD, in coordination with advanced surveillance systems, modern weaponry, and drone technology, traced the movement of the suspected militants after conducting continuous covert monitoring in the difficult and rugged terrain near Jandoga. The operation was executed during the night after precise location tracking of the terrorists. As CTD personnel closed in on the hideout, the terrorists, affiliated with the proscribed TTP, opened heavy fire, triggering an intense crossfire. During the exchange of fire, two terrorists, including a key commander, were killed on the spot, while two others sustained injuries and managed to flee along with their accomplices. Meanwhile, a large-scale search and sweep operation has been launched in the surrounding mountainous areas to apprehend the fleeing militants and eliminate any remaining threats.
