Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said US interference in the Strait of Hormuz will not be allowed. He made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with the Vice Chairman of China’s National People’s Congress, where both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Ghalibaf praised the growing political and economic partnership between Iran and China. He said the two countries would continue to expand their strategic relationship and work together on regional and international issues.
The Iranian speaker stated that strong Iran-China relations could help reduce tensions in the region. He also thanked China for supporting Iran during difficult times and said issues related to the movement of Chinese vessels through the Strait of Hormuz had been resolved.
Ghalibaf further claimed that Israel may try to undermine agreements involving the United States. He added that Iran’s defense capabilities would deter Israel from restarting military conflict and stressed that organized political and diplomatic efforts are needed to reduce regional tensions.
Referring again to US interference in the Strait of Hormuz, Ghalibaf said Iran would not permit any outside interference in the strategic waterway. Meanwhile, the Chinese official described the friendship between China and Iran as long-standing and reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to strengthening ties with Tehran.
